This is a young squirrel I've followed since last summer. He was way smaller than all of the other squirrels. He was always sporting some sign he'd had the stuffing knocked out of him. About a month or so ago, I saw him and he had this HUGE injury on his leg at the joint. It looked like a bad bite and it went to the bone. It was very nasty looking.

He was using his leg fine, but I thought that this injury might be the end of him and if he got an infection - if there wasn't one already - it could be the end.

I thought I'd seen him here and there, but wasn't sure until yesterday. The injury is almost 100% healed and he looks to be doing fine. :-)
