Mary McD loves this bag. I haven't the heart to throw it out. She jumps in, out, in, out, in and out several times a day.

Smithsonian Museum Butterfly Pavilion

This is a new and LIVE exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History- 2nd floor is the Butterfly Pavilion. It is fantastic! Live butterflies of all sorts all over the place. The actual space is not large, but big enough for butterflies. The space is like a mini biosphere. Tropical - humid and warmish :) If you go expect to take a few minutes to let your lens defog, :)

BTW the butterflies will land on you. :-)

Took a walk around the national mall today. Lots of tourists already. This hawk is not the 'regular' as the other is a red tailed hawk- perhaps just checking out the area?

Pro Golfer Charged With Killing Hawk

Pro Golfer Charged With Killing Hawk

www.cfnews13.com

ORLANDO -- An Orlando pro golfer is facing charges for killing a bird on a golf
course.

Prosecutors said Tripp Isenhour was recording an instructional golf video at the Grand Cypress Golf Course in December when the incident took place.

According to prosecutors, Isenhour intentionally killed a red-shouldered hawk during the filming.

Isenhour was on the PGA Tour last year, and is playing in the Nationwide Tour this season.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said in a report that noise from the hawk interrupted taping a couple times and that's when Isenhour is said to have hit at least 10 golf balls in the hawk's direction, eventually hitting and killing it.

Prosecutors charged Isenhour this week with animal cruelty and could face up to a $10,000 fine.

It has also been suggested that Isenhour perform community service at the Audobon Center for Birds of Prey.

I have sent my thoughts to the PGA. If you feel compelled please voice your concern that a Pro Golfer killed a hawk and is allowed to continue to play.
