Take Me the Way I am

and so I wait for the Osprey to return.
A few days ago, the National Park Service finally erected a jersey wall/snow fence barricade around the emergency turn-off from the parkway where people were illegally parking their cars to watch the Belle Haven bald eagles. Foot traffic has also been restricted to the Mt. Vernon Trail on the other side of the highway. The result is that the closest views of the birds on public property are now about 100 feet further away -- and driving through there has become far safer. The country club still has not restricted foot traffic on the other side of the nest.
All still on the ole break. Have a good weekend!

He took off right in front of me, too bad the really nice light wasn't working in my favor - so I ended up with that blue/gray background.
Also I forgot how "fast" these guys and gals fly!~ The wind 'whistles' through their wings as they fly.
Watching the ducks, geese, gulls, and the eagle soar in the sky - riding the air currents, getting from point A to point B, today made me think about what we fear. We all want to fly, soar and dive. When we have the opportunity -- do we embrace the moment or do we let fear be the deciding factor? I am no longer scared to fly...
No envy No fear-Joshua Radin
"Some are reaching, few are there, wandering from a heros chair, some are scared to fly so high, well this is how we have to try - Have no envy and no fear, have no envy, no fear"
The Osprey teaches us to streamline our lives. simple = better.

I think i have a cackling goose here or it could be a lesser. Note the stubby beak and shorter neck.
it finally stopped raining - Thank you Donna! - so bundled up and went to my pond. Lots of geese, a few mallards and lots of ring- necked ducks and two hooded mergansers.
No partridge in a pear tree. ;-)
Peter Gabriel - Solsbury Hill
Climbing up on solsbury hill
I could see the city light
Wind was blowing, time stood still
Eagle flew out of the night
He was something to observe
Came in close, I heard a voice
Standing stretching every nerve
I had to listen had no choice

Today's weather was rough. Cold, Windy and Windy and Cloudy and Cloudy.
This is the only image worth posting and I don't even like it. Too much noise. The light was dim. I shot at 400 ISO. I can forgive the white background but I just can't stand the noise.
This is a full frame uncropped image. Only the border was added. I resized from the original size of 3888x2592.
Sometimes words to songs stick around in our brains and then one day they pop to the forefront of our brains. This would be the true of this photo and song.
Norah Jones - What Am I to You
"Could you find a love in me - Could you carve me in a tree -Don't fill my heart with lies"
the invitation
"It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting in your heart's longing.
It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dreams, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life's betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit in pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own,if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tip of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, be realistic, or to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn't interest me if the story you're telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul.
I want to know if you can be faithful and therefore be trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see beauty even when it is not pretty every day, and if you can source your life from God's presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, "Yes!"
It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done for the children.
It doesn't interest me who you are, how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself, and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments."

Bright and early this morning Mary Mac was "yelling" at me to get up. So I did. She wanted food. No problem.
Today was designated as do stuff around the house day. I went to make the bed and there she was. Curled up sleeping.
This is after I asked if she was going to get up so i could make the bed. :-)
Of course I let her sleep.
This Osprey chick has been hanging around the marina for about a three weeks? It looks to be on the younger side give that the head is still more dark than light. Perhaps a late in the season hatch?
I had a good chat with it and told it to please move on as it's getting colder and it will be harder for it to fish.
