They honked as they flew by. What a GREAT day it was. I have some pics of Ernie... he is such a ham! We've created a monster ;)
today I loaded up with backpack, camera's and water. I only stayed out about three hours, but it was fabulous. The hand worked well too :-)
exciting for me several of these guys were within lens range.. Whoooot!
eating bits of seed- also sited today a Coopers Hawk. My backyard. :-) No doubt looking for an easy meal at the Bird Feeder.
Last week it was 68 degrees and balmy, today cold and snowy.
That once I am cleared to go out and shoot with all my stuff, it turns cold and windy. I went out to run some errands and took my "stuff" with me just in case. Stopped to get gas and let the wind blow me around. I decided then and there - anything I shot today would be from the comfort of my house.
Maybe I am just getting old, but cold wind is not fun. Hat or no hat :)
72 degrees Jan 8, 2007. So beautiful. Much like a late spring day
Huntley Meadows Park
It was at least 72 or more here today. Amazing!!! I even have a red face from the sun.
I should have said "with room" as it's clear -- I sloshed and had spillage :)
Waiting for the New Year! I hope everyone has a wonderful start to the new year. Thank you all so much for your flickr-ship (friendship).
I was getting ready to assume my position on my little stool and poke my lens out my back door. I looked out and saw this beautiful cat sitting on the fence.
However, I wasn't ready to click away - I had left the camera on 500 ISO from the day before, departing from my set it to basic settings so if you need to point and shoot you get the shot.
So, after some back and forth with myself and some tinkering, I am posting.
thank you for the buffet.
I put out some seeds and such for the birds and squirrels. Everyone seemed to be glad. Bluejay, Cardinal's, chicadee's, sparrows, Carolina Wren, and the tufted titmouse.

Hoping everyone has a wonderful holiday. Best wishes for the New Year.
Kim, Chloe and Mary McD - Oh and Ernie of course
I am getting a new tree skirt, but Mary McD and Chloe like to lay on the old one under tree. Chloe is more lady like, while Mary McD moves it around and gets it just right. ;)
