Went to the marina, Jon was already there. As promised a "scattered thunderstorm" came through. After the storm it was apparent that the chicks were wanting fish. Jr went to the platform and was waiting for his fish.
Boaters launched and well, Jr warned them but they came anyway.. Jr flew off to the trees. :-(
Waiting for the adults to bring fish
Chick 1 or Jr has entered the teenage years. He missed the fish drop and then buzzed one of the adults sitting in a near by tree. Over and over again he flew by diving, gliding, diving.
Later the he got a fish and promptly took off to eat it away from the nest. Nikographer [Jon] met me there for some Osprey action.
After many attempts, this Chick - Chick 2 has been flying and left the nest today. He would squawk at boaters as they went by :-)
this chick wants to leave the nest and is trying to fly off.
a lone duckling. I hope it makes it, I stopped a couple of boaters coming in to see if they had a net. Of course they didn't. I *might* have been able to scoop it up. So Despite the great day of Osprey time I feel like crap. The duckling was busy eating so at least it was getting some food. MAYBE? a small micracle will happen and the mother and other ducklings will find it.
